Restaurant Profile Setup
Your Restaurant Name
Your restaurant name is displayed at the top of your public digital menu. It is set during account creation but can be changed at any time from Dashboard > Settings.
Use your official restaurant name as customers know it. Avoid abbreviations or internal names that might confuse people scanning your QR code for the first time.
Choosing Your URL Slug
Your URL slug determines your public menu address. For example, if your slug
is joes-pizzeria, your menu will be available at:
menugaze.com/menu/joes-pizzeria
When choosing a slug, keep these guidelines in mind:
- Keep it short — Shorter slugs are easier to type and remember
- Use lowercase letters and hyphens — Avoid spaces, special characters, or uppercase letters
- Make it recognizable — Your slug should clearly identify your restaurant
- Check availability — Each slug must be unique across the platform
You can change your slug later, but be aware that your old URL will stop working immediately. If you have already printed QR codes with the old URL, you will need to reprint them. For this reason, choose your slug carefully before printing.
Your Public Menu URL
Once your profile is set up and you have at least one active menu item, your public menu is live and accessible to anyone with the link or QR code. The public menu shows:
- Your restaurant name
- All active menu items grouped by category
- Photos (or 3D models if you are on 3D Menu Pro)
- Item names, descriptions, and prices
The public menu is designed to load fast on mobile devices. It does not require customers to create an account or download anything.
Profile Tips
A well-configured profile builds trust with your customers. Here are a few things to double-check:
- Your restaurant name is spelled correctly
- Your slug matches your restaurant name closely
- You have tested the public URL on both an iPhone and an Android phone
- Your menu items are organized into clear categories
Remember that your digital menu is often the first impression a customer has of your restaurant. A clean, well-organized menu with good photos reflects well on your business.
