Getting Your QR Code

Where to Find Your QR Code

Your restaurant QR code is available on your dashboard. Look for the "QR Code" section, which shows a preview of your QR code along with download options.

The QR code links directly to your public menu URL. When a customer scans it with their phone camera, they are taken straight to your digital menu without needing to install any app.

Downloading Your QR Code

You can download your QR code in two formats:

  • PNG — Best for printing on paper, inserting into documents, or displaying on screens. This is the format most print shops expect.
  • SVG — A vector format that scales to any size without losing quality. Use this if you are working with a graphic designer or need very large prints.

Both formats include your QR code in the MenuGaze teal color scheme. On higher-tier plans, you can customize the QR code appearance with your restaurant branding.

Printing and Display

For table-top display, we recommend printing at the following sizes:

  • Table tents — 3 x 3 inches (7.5 x 7.5 cm) minimum for the QR code area
  • Table stickers — 2 x 2 inches (5 x 5 cm) minimum
  • Wall posters — 4 x 4 inches (10 x 10 cm) or larger
  • Counter cards — 3 x 5 inches (7.5 x 12.5 cm) including text

Keep the QR code at least 2 inches wide for reliable scanning. Smaller sizes may not scan well from a comfortable distance, especially in dim lighting.

Add a short instruction near the QR code such as "Scan to view our menu" so customers know what to do. Many print shops can create professional table tents or cards for a modest cost.

Testing Your QR Code

Always test your QR code before distributing it. Open your phone camera app and point it at the QR code. Most modern smartphones (iPhone and Android) will show a notification to open the link. Tap it and verify that:

  1. The menu loads correctly
  2. All your items and photos appear
  3. The restaurant name at the top is correct
  4. The menu is easy to scroll and read on a phone screen

Test from a printed copy, not just your screen. Printing can sometimes affect QR code readability, especially on textured or glossy paper. If the QR code does not scan, try printing at a larger size or on matte paper.
